What does it mean to not hardcore something into a formula? I am getting confused and now I am unsure. For example, it says to cell reference for the Order ID and not to hardcore it into the formula. Will I only reference the Order ID or the the other part of the formula?

(Sorry if that sounds dumb)

Thank you!

Hello NaiLah,

Hard-coding means entering values in the formula instead of referring the value through cell range.
As an example, in the following formula in cell F10 (Step 2), 30 is hard-coded,
The proper way to write the formula is LOOKUP(E10,A9:A16,B9:B16).
Notice, we have replaced 30 by E10.

Please feel free to clarify any question on this forum, we believe that no question or doubt is dumb.
